This is a large (double) room with a separate enclosed verandah in a quiet and peaceful split level house (you are up with two others) where you will have a bedroom and further space in the house in a very green environment on the bank of the Cook's River between Illawarra Rd and Tempe station. The configuration mentioned refers to the upstairs section of the house only.
House surrounded by vast lush green spaces on both sides of the river. Small vege and herb garden which you are welcome to work and a very large area of arable down the back. Local wildlife has included a pair of monogamous kookas, resident possum, rosellas, kingfishers, pelicans skimming along the river. Many thousands of flying foxes pass over on their way from the colony on Wolli Creek to feed every evening at dusk. There's a nature walking trail beside Wolli Creek from Tempe to Bardwell Park.
If you're into constant partying, loud music, and/or lack a cool, respectful and independent and/or communal self, then please forget us. This is a quiet household which would facilitate your own studies, reading, writing, or intellectual work indoors, Maturity, reasonable communication when necessary, and a consistently respectful attitude to others in the house will see it returned. You must be able to keep things neat and clean in the shared areas without being harassed or coaxed about this kind of thing. Timely payment of bills goes without saying..........but I said it anyway. A mature-age person would fit in with current residents very well too. You should have work or be financially independent with a demonstable capacity to pay your way. Present residents are diverse in age and outlook with different interests and independent pursuits.
You will need your own furniture largely, although we have some odd bits. All usual household implements and utensils are available for your use.
Short term (say 6-12 months) ok.
Your share in quarterly bills will include gas (hot water) and electricity (lights, power, cooking, etc). Bond equivalent to 2 weeks rent, plus 2 weeks rent in advance
Bicycle/walking paths on both sides of the river make a 30-40 minute walking circuit and extend to Botany Bay or Ryde; Bus to Newtown, Sydney University, UTS, and the City about 10 minutes walk; Tempe Station 7 minute walk; connections from there direct to Redfern, Central, Bondi Junction and Illawarra, or via Wolli Creek to East Hills; Marrickville station is also 12 minutes away for the Bankstown line; The Dendy cinema and a range of straight/gay nightlife and entertainment venues at Newtown can be reached in 25-30 minutes on the 423 bus or a train to Erskineville
